The upgrade was spread across seven separate tenancies. The existing 748 x 400w Mercury Vapour Hi Bay units had proven problematic, with the rapid degradation of light output and delay in restarting typical of these outdated units impacting workplace safety, as well as constant globe replacement slowing work rates and keeping maintenance expenditure high. The long operating hours of these inefficient units was the main reason the Centre’s electricity consumption was extremely high. The selected LED Hi Bay replacement unit enhanced existing light levels, resolved the workplace issues by providing instant restart, low degradation rates and extremely long life, as well as a massive reduction in power consumption.
